Training for Dogs in Need of Homes

SUPPORT FOR RESCUE COMMUNITIES and beyond

We provide, free of charge, consultations and follow-up lessons for fosters and dog rescue workers.

These sessions include an open invitation to others in the rescue community to observe and learn. This enables us to spread the wealth of knowledge efficiently.

Participation is in person or virtual. Most training sessions are recorded, and an online library with recorded modules is available for reference to those who join our rescue network.

A CPDT or CBCC is available for guidance.

Our services include: housebreaking; basic manners; separation anxiety; on-leash reactivity; dog-dog aggression; dog-people aggression; loose leash walking; service dog training; multiple-dog households; nose work; resource guarding; issues related to fear; enrichment including K9 Nose Work®.

In-Person and Virtual Training for Fosters and Rescue Groups

Initial Consultation: We start with a consultation. We meet your dog (in person or remotely), set goals, review the dog’s history and learn about the daily factors that will influence our plan. 1/2 to 2/3 of the consultation covers the above and then we begin with action steps.

You receive a document summarizing our session and links to reference videos.

The 90-minute to 2-hour consultation is a free service to fosters and rescue groups.

Follow-up Sessions: Many fosters require follow-up coaching as questions arise and progress ensues. These are delivered in-person or remotely and are supplemented with our multi-media reference library.

Free of charge: These services are free to the rescue community. This is only possible through grants and donations. We also rely on volunteers to share time, unique skills and venues for our events.
